Under the guidance of the Financial Planning Manager provide timely forecasts on the financial direction of Manitoba Hydro under
alternative assumptions of future events. Assist business units in the financial analysis of strategic and business opportunities in
order to enhance the success of the Corporation. Integrate business unit forecasts of revenues, expenses and capital expenditures,
follow up and analyze to produce financial forecasts to facilitate decisions by the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) on customer rate
levels, financial targets and other corporate strategies and for use in presentations to the Minister of Finance, the Treasury Board
and the Public Utilities Board.

**_ Responsibilities:_**
- Using the Corporate financial forecasting system (FINFOR), prepare long-range projected financial statements and associated

reports and graphs as required for forecasts and budgets consistent with the Corporation's financial targets and accounting
policies. Interpret the results with regard to the impact on Manitoba Hydro's financial position.
- Conduct detailed analysis of specified projects, business proposals and alternative strategies with a view to determining their

impact on the financial position and revenue requirements of the Corporation.
- Determine the Corporation's financial sensitivity to variations in key economic assumptions, external influences/disruptions

and strategic alternatives to assist ELT's decision making.
- Correspond with corporate planning groups to facilitate the timely and accurate submissions of information required to

produce projected financial statements and verify the reasonableness of the submitted materials.
- Analyze output from the financial forecasting system and provide users with information on which decisions regarding future

consumer rate increases are based.
- Participate in the ongoing development and testing of the financial forecasting system and other forecasting tools.
- Assist in the preparation of analyses of forecast variances.
- Assist in the preparation of presentation materials.
- Provide financial analysis and backup for internal and external information requests, including Prospectus information, special
- requests, Public Utility Board enquiries, and other Government agencies.- Support the activities associated with standing up the Corporation's new business model and the initiatives underpinning

Strategy 2040 and the Integrated Resource Plan (IRP).

**_ Qualifications:_**
- Professional designation (CPA or CFA) combined with four years of progressively responsible work experience,

demonstrating the skills and abilities required for the position.
OR
- A four-year degree in Commerce or Business Administration from a University of recognized standing combined with five

years of progressively responsible work experience, demonstrating the skills and abilities required for the position.

- Demonstrated ability to use dedicated modelling tools to produce projected financial statements and the ability to verify their

accuracy and to develop and test complex alternative scenarios would be a definite asset.
- Ability to perform in-depth variance analyses and explanations. Ability to recognize implications of variances within the context

of a broad Corporate perspective.
- Experience with the use of the corporate project and capital system in SAP (PSM) would be an asset.
- Thorough knowledge of corporate accounting policies, practices and procedures.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze financial impacts of capital projects.
- Understanding of corporate consolidation methodologies and the modelling thereof.

Demonstrated ability to provide accurate and meaningful information to public agencies recognizing the possible impact of this
information on Manitoba Hydro's public image.
