Position Summary

Neighbourly Pharmacy is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Senior Financial Analyst for our Corporate Accounting team. The position is fully remote and open to candidates in either Winnipeg or Toronto. The position reports directly to the Manager of Accounting. They will have the opportunity to engage with a talented team and gain valuable experience. The incumbent will ensure accuracy, timeliness and completeness of information processed in our accounting system and have the skills to lead and encourage individuals within the department.

Key Responsibilities

· Analyzing inventory on a periodic basis to review for variances between multiple store systems and accounting system and to ensure accuracy of reporting received

· Analyzing sales margins and investigating anomalies

· Preparing periodic balance sheet reconciliations including inventory, receivables, and accrued liabilities

· Preparing and analyzing store financial transactions

· Providing periodic analytical commentary, including highlighting accounting issues, and providing explanations for any variances to budget

· Assisting with the overall integrity of the financial data, processes, and business controls for the organization

· Participating, supporting, and driving corporate wide financial priorities & initiatives

· Support efforts of management team through preparation and analysis of ad-hoc reporting as required

· Assisting with several other areas of the periodic, quarter end, and year end close process

· Other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Skills

· Bachelor of Commerce degree with finance and/or accounting specialization

· 2+ years of experience as a senior financial analyst/accountant

· 5+ years of experience as a financial analyst/accountant

· Strong interpersonal and communications skills both oral and written

· Adaptable to changing processes, competing deadlines, and fast-paced environments

· Highly organized and manages their own and others’ tasks with ease

· Mindset of continuous improvement

· Experience with inventory reconciliation and reporting

· Experience with sales margin and analysis

· Advanced Microsoft Office, Power Point and Excel skills, including Pivot tables, lookups, sumifs, etc.

· Experience in the following systems considered to be an asset: Business Central and Microstrategy BI

· Experience in multi-location and/or retail business environment considered to be an asset

· CPA or PEP designation or in progress would be an asset
