POSITION: Community Outreach Navigator (Competition #2023-84))

LOCATION: Human Services - Oxford County

EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Temporary Full-Time

(beginning September 2023, for approximately 12 months with possibility of extension)

REPORTING TO: Supervisor of Human Services

UNION AFFILIATION: CUPE

WAGE RANGE: $36.85 - $40.01.per hour

Under the direction of the Supervisor of Human Services the Community Outreach Navigator provides clients experiencing homelessness and those at risk for homelessness with focused customer service which includes referrals for social services and affordable housing supports; connects clients with community services and partners to promote ongoing housing stability and life stabilization.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

- Post-secondary degree or diploma in mental health and addictions.
- A minimum of two years of previous related work experience required.
- Knowledge of housing support programs, Mental Health Act and related legislation, program and policy guidelines.
- Must possess experience and knowledge in counselling interventions, harm reduction and addictions. Experience in mentoring and coaching will be considered an asset.
- Training in crisis intervention and crisis resolution including ASIST.
- Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills and ability to work within a team work environment.
- Exceptional relationship building skills and outcome-based approach problem solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to provide high quality customer service to clients in an equitable manner.
- Valid Driver’s Licence - Class G
