Community Living Kingston and District (CLKD) is a progressive organization that supports nearly seven hundred people with intellectual disabilities in the Kingston, Lennox & Addington, and Leeds-Grenville areas.

**_Duties and Responsibilities: _**

The core duty of this position is to provide supports to individuals with intellectual disabilities in a group living arrangement. Each program typically supports five individuals. Included in these supports are:

- Provision of direct support to all individuals in the home including support to persons served at a range of community inclusion activities based on the choice of the individuals;
- Providing support to persons served in a manner that encourages and fosters inclusion and independence;
- Developing and maintaining positive relationships with persons served, the support team, natural supports, community partners and other support networks;
- Ensuring that supports provided in the home are inclusive, nurturing, and secure.

- Skilled in the areas of advocating for others, collaboration, creative problem solving and decision making, fostering independence in others, initiative, resilience and interpersonal relationships and respect;
- Flexibility and versatility are important attributes. This position will require that the staff member be skilled at providing supports to a wide range of complex needs, including behavioural supports, medical supports, and providing personal care. The successful applicant will also need to be prepared to change their expected assignment on short notice and be prepared to respond to emergency situations. It is unlikely that an applicant who enjoys routine and predictability will be successful in this role.
- A valid full G driver’s license is a requirement to be considered for this position;
- Proven track record of exercising mature judgment and sensitivity in supporting people with disabilities and their families/support networks.

**_Hours of Work: _**

This position will generally be scheduled to work from mid-day into the evening each shift (e.g., 11am-7pm, 12pm-8pm), though other day/evening shifts may be scheduled with sufficient notice. A willingness to slightly alter hours on a day-to-day basis as needed would be beneficial.

This position is currently scheduled to work on alternate weekends.

**_Salary and Benefits: _**
- The current salary for this position is set at $22.68 per hour ($19.68 per hour + $3.00 per hour wage enhancement), as per the Collective Agreement (increases as seniority accrued).
- Employer-matched RRSP contributions.
- Three weeks annual vacation (increases as seniority is accrued).
- Benefits plan (drug, extended health) upon completion of probationary period.
- Accrued paid sick time.
