Title: Intern, First Tee - Canada

Reports to: Coordinator, First Tee - Canada

Location: Hybrid: 3 days/week remote & 2 days/week in-person at Golf Canada Head Office, Oakville, Ontario

Status: Intern (May - August)

Ideal Start Date: May 5, 2024

OVERVIEW:
Golf Canada is looking for a motivated and mission-oriented individual to support the national implementation of First Tee. Reporting directly to the Coordinator, First Tee - Canada, the successful applicant will provide national support to First Tee chapter staff, positively contributing to a more accessible and diverse junior golf participation base.

AREAS OF FOCUS:
Operations - 50%
- Assist with day-to-day administrative tasks related to First Tee programming including but not limited to:

- Coordinating packaging, shipping and tracking of First Tee equipment and marketing collateral to new program locations across Canada;
- Providing timely and informative customer service to stakeholders including parents, golf professionals, teachers, and youth leaders;
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of First Tee programming in all provinces;
- Assist with national program reporting and data collection;
- Support First Tee - Canada staff with additional duties as they arise.

Events - 30%
- Support the organization and execution of First Tee - Canada activations at Golf Canada’s Professional Championships including the RBC Canadian Open and CPKC Women’s Open.
- Coordinate all aspects of Golf Canada’s Walk with a Pro event at both professional championships, including developing a schedule, confirming participants, ticketing, and more;
- Assist with the implementation and delivery of special events such as community activations, try-it sessions, fundraising events and any other initiatives as required;
Marketing - 20%
- Assist First Tee Marketing & Communications team to facilitate relationships with and support regional First Tee chapter staff in marketing efforts across the country;
- Support First Tee Marketing & Communications team with planning and execution of work-back schedules for projects (with the use of Jira project management software);
- Assist in the development of newsletter creation and deployment (via Mailchimp) to First Tee’s varying audiences;
REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, & ABILITIES:

- Currently enrolled in, or recently completed, a Post Secondary Degree in Sport Business/Management;
- Excellent organization skills and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment;
- Motivated and enthusiastic individual with interest in impacting youth through sport;
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
- Strong written and oral communication skills with a keen attention to detail;
- Prior experience executing events considered an asset;
- Bilingualism (French and English) considered an asset;
- Ability to travel as needed.

Opérations - 50%
- Aider à l’exécution des tâches quotidiennes d’administration liées aux programmes de First Tee - Premier départ, dont, entre autres:

- Coordonner la préparation, l’expédition et le traçage de l’équipement et du matériel marketing de First Tee - Premier départ destinés aux nouveaux sites de programme partout au Canada.
- Assurer un service à la clientèle diligent et informatif aux parties prenantes, dont les parents, les professionnels de golf, les enseignants et les animateurs jeunesse.
- Collaborer avec les intervenants à l’interne et à l’externe pour assurer le succès de la prestation des programmes First Tee - Premier départ dans toutes les provinces.
- Aider à la collecte de connées et aux comptes rendus des programmes à l’échelle nationale.
- Soutenir le personnel de First Tee - Premier départ Canada dans l’exécution d’autres tâches au besoin.

Évènements - 30%
- Soutenir l’organisation et l’exécution des activations de First Tee - Premier départ Canada aux championnats professionnels de Golf Canada, dont l’Omnium canadien RBC et l’Omnium féminin CPKC.
