**The main purpose of this position**
Our Leadership Team focuses on supporting the Agency’s oath, core values, and culture, as well as accountability, dedication to ensuring quality services, providing supportive supervision, and working through the lenses of trauma-informed, diversity, equity and inclusion, housing-first, harm reduction and safety principles.

Responsible for all operations, staffing, and services provided for Housing First Response Team, including program development, evaluation, staff supervision, maintaining strategic alignment and partnership development & sustainability.
**The main purpose of the Housing First Response Team**
The Housing First Response Team will be responsible for providing one-to-one community-based support, housing & service navigation across the Halton region supporting people who are unhoused
and who experience mental health and substance use concerns. The team will work primarily in the community meeting people where they are at, including shelters, supportive housing and street level outreach.
This position is a part of an assertive outreach team where communication and team building is paramount to support positive outcomes for the people we support. You will work closely together to respond quickly to community homelessness support needs, including crisis and distress.
Areas of support will include building trusting relationships; crisis intervention, mediation, and de-escalation; urgent housing placements; connection to health care resources; harm reduction supports and resources; individually defined holistic needs and goals.
This team will include Community Outreach Coordinators and Peer Support Workers that have expertise in crisis supports, harm reduction, justice, and housing.
**Responsibilities**
- Internal Management Role_
- Responsible for operating programs and services with the strategic values and goals of the organization, including active participation in organizational strategic planning.
- Responsible for maintaining support staff including recruitment, hiring, coaching, mentorship, scheduling, team building, and succession planning.
- Promote and role model the Agency’s brand promise.
- Development of staff capacity around agency core competencies (trauma-informed, harm reduction, crisis navigation, peer support, health & safety, etc.)
- Debrief and support complex situations.
- Responding to crisis/incidents, including thorough follow-up and prevention recommendations
- Mentorship and development of Leadership Team
- Provide direct supports on behalf of or alongside your team when required.
- Aligning services with internal programs to better support client needs, including advocacy.
- Participate in Manager On-Call schedule rotation, with compensation through vacation time for shifts.
- Coach supervisors and staff to ensure accountability over programs and services standards.
