Area Plant Supervisor

**Responsibilities**:
Under general direction from the General Manager, the Area Production Supervisor organizes workers, develops detailed shift plans, assigns work, coordinates, and supervises the daily operations of the employees to meet the deadlines as set out by the Production Department:
- Implement and control the production schedule. Review and adjust the schedule where needed Evaluating order sheets every morning and planning work accordingly for function (by Lead hands); entering orders statuses in production planning software system
- Conduct daily morning meetings with production staff (Lead hands) to discuss issues, priorities for the day, and have safety talks
- Monitors progress and modifies priorities as require
- Ensure the right resources are available on a shift-by-shift basis to meet projected workload delivery on quality, cost and schedule
- Familiarize yourself with products in the supervised area and the related processes
- Know company policies and their implementation
- Ensuring quality standards are met by the department by systematically inspecting samples of all products; provides on going and continuous feedback and direction to employees regarding productivity and quality of work
- Complete reports as assigned by management
- Maintaining strong on-going communications with all employees and creating a positive and productive working environment
- Ensure implementation and adherence to Health and safety procedures. Is responsible for safety incidents and quality deviations that occur during manufacturing and responsible for the thorough investigation and timely reporting of such.
- Communicate with administrative, plant and supervisory staff as required.
- Must be able to provide leadership and coaching to all employees in the department and provide feedback to employees
- Communicating shift production plan for department to afternoon shift when required.
- Ensure the Production area is clean and ready for the afternoon shift or following day at the end of each shift
**Requirements**:
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a supervisory role in a manufacturing environment
- Previous experience in high pace production environment with direct experience in manufacturing
- 3 + years experience with Lean manufacturing ideals
- Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt) would be considered an asset
- Excellent leadership skills, communication, planning and organizational skills
- Production facility is Non-Union
- Computer literate
- Very good command of oral and written English
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $70,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
