**Position Summary**:
As a member of the Autism Support Team with Specialized Learning Supports, the Speech Language Pathologist Consultant will provide trans-disciplinary support to school personnel serving Autistic students with diverse learning needs who are Grade 1 through Grade 12. The SLP Consultant will provide regularly scheduled active modeling and coaching visits as well as develop and deliver professional learning to Division staff.

**Job Duties/Responsibilities**:

- collaborating and providing role specific expertise related to language and speech developments and social communications differences with the Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) team to school staff and front line SLS team
- administering, interpreting and analyzing assessments to determine impact of skill levels on educational programming and student success
- coaching and modelling strategies to the learning team to support the implementation of literacy, language and communication strategies in school, home and community
- identifying, recommending and evaluating curricular adaptations, modifications and task supports required to support educational programming
- supervising and guiding speech language assistants in the implementation of universal, targeted and specialized strategies to students
- liaising with professionals in educational and health care settings and external community agencies to ensure a coordinated approach to service

**Education/Qualifications**:

- Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology
- registered with Alberta College of Speech Language Pathologists and Audiologists
- minimum of three years related experience in classroom-based service delivery to children with Autism
- excellent communication, collaboration and consultative skills
- experience with Alternative and Augmentative Communication methods

**Rate of Pay**:
$3,465.00 - $4,431.70 bi-weekly
