**About the Position**

**Key Responsibilities**
- Lead and administer Divert NS’ business development funding programs.
- Work with various stakeholder groups including Nova Scotia Environment and Climate Change, municipalities, industry, academia, funding organizations, and other stakeholders to raise awareness of business development funding programs that encourage innovation in waste-resource management.
- Utilize Divert NS’ expertise in waste-resource management to foster the circular economy within Nova Scotia.
- Liaise and engage with like-minded stakeholders to develop strategic opportunities.
- Deliver initiatives and competitions to academic institutions and the business community.
- Deliver summits/workshops to identify solutions to strategic waste management issues in Nova Scotia.
- Lead other initiatives as assigned by Director of Programs and Development.

**Qualifications**
- Relevant university degree and three to five years’ experience in business development, commercial lending, and/or project management.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to foster excellent relationships across various stakeholders including government, industry, academia, Enviro-Depots, and the public.
- Effective negotiation and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to identify end markets and recognize new recycling opportunities for materials recovered from the waste stream.
- Experience in evaluating business plans for new ventures and/or expansions to existing operations.
- Familiarity with administering funding and loan agreements.
- Strong marketing, event planning, and customer service skills.
- Ability to adapt to ongoing change while effectively managing multiple projects and tasks.
- Knowledge of waste diversion in Nova Scotia, including source reduction, reuse, recycling, and composting programs.
