JOB SUMMARY:
The purpose of this position is to coordinate and develop a living systematic review database focused on systematic reviews of economic evaluations of behavioral interventions. This position is funded by the Canada Foundation for Innovation (PI: Dr. Jennifer Davis).

ORGANIZATIONAL STATUS:
This position will work independently under administrative direction. This position will report directly to the Principal Investigator, Dr. Jennifer Davis.

WORK PERFORMED:

- Development a living systematic review database for economic evaluations of behavioural interventions in the following topical areas: 1) falls prevention, 2) cognition/dementia and 3) chronic conditions (i.e., Type 2 Diabetes and Spinal Cord Injury).
- Development of search strategies
- Development of lab manual for protocol for development of a living systematic review.
- Data extraction
- Literature Review
- Report writing and generation
- Data analysis (meta-analysis)

CONSEQUENCE OF ERROR/IMPACT OF DECISIONS:
The work of this position will be monitored by Dr. Jennifer Davis or designate. Errors or incorrect decisions could potentially result in delays in completing the project or could seriously compromise the quality of the research.

The community facilitator should understand that:
a) As a delegate of the principal investigator, this position must conform to appropriate regulations: 1) maintaining professional behaviour and respect for research participants, research staffs, external contractors, and community partners; 2) the UBC Behavioural Research Ethics Board, and 3) B.C. Privacy Act.

b) Lack of careful attention to regulatory guidelines and approvals can lead to suspension of further research and/or funding for the investigation as well as the University.

c) Poor communication skills could jeopardize research participants' participation and continuation in the research engagement activities, and could reflect badly on the research group and the University with funding agency and referring/community partners.

d) The principal investigator relies on the assistant to alert him/her to problems and unexpected events concerning research conduct and innovation development process. These include, but are not limited to: 1) failure to complete work according to deadlines, 2) unexpected or excessive workload or administrative hurdles; and 3) recurrent problem or concerns raised by staff, contractors, and partners.

e) Lack of careful attention to regulatory guidelines and approvals can lead to suspension of further research and/or funding for the investigator as well as the University.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED:
This position will be directly supervised by the principal investigator, Dr. Jennifer Davis.

SUPERVISION GIVEN:
This position will supervise the communications and messaging of the research and development teams; oversee the execution of events; and demonstrate communication and presentation methodologies.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work will be performed on site at the University of British Columbia in Dr. Davis research laboratory. Regular meetings with the supervisor will be scheduled.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Completion of a relevant university degree in a relevant discipline and a minimum of three years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Exposure to literature in the following areas: health economics, public health, behavioural intervention, lifestyle intervention, health-related topics (i.e., falls, mobility, dementia, type 2 diabetes, spinal cord injury)
- Experience conducting and developing search strategies
- Experience with conducting or completing systematic reviews, meta-analyses
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication (oral and written) and organizational skills.
- Detail-oriented, with excellent analytical thinking skills, ability to take initiative.
- The ability to produce high-quality, accurate work in a timely way, and in accordance with project deadlines.
