**Job Description**:
The Public Credit group’s focus is on the development and management of alpha strategies across multiple global credit markets such as corporate bonds & ETFs, structured finance, and credit derivatives. With a specific focus on structured credit (including but not limited to: ABS, CLO, RMBS, CMBS, and other securitized asset classes), the individual will be responsible for conducting research and evaluating investments, sourcing opportunities, trading, and portfolio monitoring.
**Role-Specific Accountabilities**:
Reporting to the Portfolio Manager - Public Credit, this position is primarily responsible for researching and investigating, assisting in building, and implementing trading strategies for both beta and alpha mandates within Public Credit, with a particular focus on structured credit. Major areas of responsibilities include:
- Identifying and researching new investment opportunities across structured credit markets
- Performing fundamental and technical credit research and presenting research ideas to broader group
- Assist in the preparation and implementation of investment recommendations and strategies
- Participate in the preparation and implementation of investment recommendations and strategies, and development of tools to trade Credit Relative Value (“Credit RV”) strategies based on fundamental and market-based research across multiple products
- Helping to establish and grow Public Credit’s group presence in North America including building relationships with key counterparts in the region
- Part of team responsible for pricing and managing risk associated with various Public Credit strategies (e.g., corporate bonds & ETFs, structured finance, credit derivatives)
General accountabilities include working as part of the Public Credit group to optimize and implement strategies related to beta and alpha generation.
**Qualifications**:
- Commensurate work experience preferably with direct investing, trading, structuring or investment banking experience in structured credit
- A quantitative degree (e.g., math, engineering, applied economics, computer science) would be an added benefit
- Some track record of managing risk/trading/conducting research or providing analysis in the implementation and monitoring of Credit Relative Value strategies
- Good knowledge of fixed income, credit, and finance as well as strong analytical skills
- Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated verbal and written communication ability
- Solid prioritization and organizational skills
- Demonstrated good judgment, professionalism and integrity
- Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously in a high performing culture, under pressure and with time-sensitive deadlines
- Proven ability to work independently as well as to perform effectively in a team-oriented environment
