**_ Credit Analyst_**
**How does the role impact the organization?**
Under general supervision with a high level of autonomy, uses knowledge and skills obtained through education, training and experience to assist a business unit or department in making credit decisions and monitoring a portfolio of corporate loans. Verifies credit information and analyzes both publicly reported and privately disclosed financial information. Guidance from individual Manager and / or assigned Banker is provided to perform work that is complex, requiring a certain degree of evaluation, originality and ingenuity to make various credit related decisions. Provides support to Bankers overseeing a portfolio of syndicated corporate loans, with a predominant focus on leveraged loans.
**_ New Loan Underwriting _**-** Review of new loan requests from lending partners, brokers and direct from clients, including loan investment memorandums; reviewing financial statements and other material to prepare independent cash flow and underwriting value estimates focusing on large complex transactions.
**_ Loan Portfolio Management_** -** Prepare quarterly and annual credit reviews, collate and analyze complex financial and non-financial data on the group’s existing clients and loan portfolio; Working alongside the senior members of the lending team in their day-to-day management of the portfolio.
**What will your role be responsible for?**
- Provides support to Banker in regards to portfolio and risk management of complex corporate loans to ensure proper reserve requirements are applied.
- Analyzes both publicly filed and private financial statements, interprets findings and prepares various reports and models.
- Prepares quarterly and annual reviews of existing corporate borrowers and respective loan participations.
- Works closely with a team to underwrite and present loan investments to an Executive Loan Committee on an ad hoc basis.
- Prepares spreadsheets, reports, summaries and opinions, including analyses of individual corporate loans and portfolio based overviews of credit metrics.
- Maintains documentation files and monitors compliance with terms of loans.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Understanding fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of accounting and financial principles.
- Familiarity with fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of credit analysis, including financial statement analysis.
- Knowledge of financial markets and products.
- Demonstrating very strong written and verbal communications skills.
- Proficiency in researching, interpreting, and analyzing financial statements.
- Competence in preparing financial position and credit reports.
- Ability to monitor compliance with loans/accounts.
- Skill in preparing and delivering oral and written presentations with a focus on attention to detail.
- Demonstrating strong interpersonal skills with a proven ability to work as part of a team.
- Interpreting various financial statements (audited, operating, budgets, and projections).
- Building and managing financial models and spreadsheets.
- Attention to detail while maintaining a big picture orientation.
- Ability to multitask in a high-performance environment.
- Providing a high level of customer service.
- Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with others.

**Educational/Previous Experience Requirements**
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or equivalent, with a minimum of zero (0) to one (1) years of credit experience;
- Willingness to complete the Chartered Financial Analyst Designation or other professional designation.
