For over 30 years, Umbrella Family and Child Centres of Hamilton has enjoyed the reputation of being an organization that offers high-quality programs to young children and their families. Umbrella Family operates full-day early learning and childcare centres for infant, toddler and preschool children, as well as extended daycare programs before and after school for kindergarten and school age children in the Greater Hamilton Area.

We are currently recruiting for a Business Development Specialist to join our team on a 2 year contract. As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, the Business Development Specialist is responsible for the development and implementation of new and expanded service options from a business perspective. This position will leverage their business development and project management skills to identify and create new or strengthen existing relationships.

The qualifications for the Business Development Specialist are as follows:

- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Business or a related field is required;
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Designation is required;
- Lean Six Sigma Certification is considered an asset
- Ten (10) years of work experience in business development and/or project management;
- Experience working in a not-for-profit organization;
- Experience in enterprise risk management;
- Advances knowledge of budgeting and forecasting;
- Advanced written and verbal communication skills, with strong relationship building skills;
- In depth knowledge of MS Office Suite is preferred, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Confident and consistent decision-making skills;
- Resourcefulness and flexibility to meet the needs and the demands of the position;
- Ability to work independently and as a team member to achieve outcomes and meet deadlines; and
- Ability to balance demands and priorities and to manage effectively.
