NAIT's Instrumentation Engineering Technology program is a 2-year diploma program delivered over 4 semesters of 15 weeks each. Graduates of this program are helping to develop new systems and technologies that enable businesses to improve productivity and safety, conserve energy and reduce pollution. Students will learn how to use a variety of tools and technologies including sensors, controllers and software to create sophisticated systems that can monitor and control multiple variables in real-time.

NAIT’s Instrumentation and Control Technician apprenticeship program provides instrumentation and control technician apprentices with hands-on training on diverse equipment including pneumatic, electronic and microcomputer-based instruments used to measure, control and automate industrial plants and processes.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Prepare and present learning outcomes and activities in a classroom, laboratory and industry setting
- Participate in curriculum development, program reviews and course reviews
- Facilitate the learning process by utilizing instructional strategies that ensure efficient and effective delivery of course materials
- Manage instructional delivery and set the tone and climate for a safe and effective learning environment
- Create assessment tools to evaluate the learning process and maintain progress records
- Provide on-going coaching and tutoring for students to maximize student success and retention and respond to student issues
- Utilize appropriate educational technology for presentations, communications and program promotions
- Maintain professional and ethical relationships with students, colleagues and industry partners
- Utilize regular student feedback to identify and implement instructional improvement
- Improve the quality of instruction through professional development activities
- Other duties as assigned

**Skills & Abilities**:

- Have strong technical knowledge in Instrumentation Engineering fundamentals
- Be able to work both independently and within a team environment
- Bring passion, enthusiasm, and ideas that will positively contribute to the advancement and growth of the Instrumentation Engineering Technology program
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office and industry related software tools are essential.

**Qualifications**:

- 5+ years of industry experience related to instrumentation, controls or automation
- Diploma in Instrumentation Engineering Technology or related discipline
- Journeyperson’s Certification as an Instrumentation and Controls Technician is an asset
- A degree in a related engineering discipline is an asset
- Prior teaching experience is an asset
- Equivalencies will be considered

Applicants with education credentials earned outside of Canada should have their credentials evaluated by World Education Services or the International Qualifications Assessment Service (IQAS).

**Remuneration**: Will commensurate with education and experience, plus a comprehensive benefits package.

Instructor salary grid $65,218.00 - $113,452.00 annually. However, starting salary for new hires averages between $78,998.00 - $85,889.00 annually based on education and experience with room for negotiations. (Classification - Instructor).
- This position is covered by the NAIT Academic Staff Association (NASA) Collective Agreement_
