**Reports To**: Diamond Bailey Healing Centre Manager

**General Description**:
The Diamond Bailey Healing Centre (DBHC) is a new facility developed and operated by the MNFC and is a response to the need within the Urban Indigenous Community for an Indigenous-led, trauma-informed and culturally appropriate facility where members of the urban Indigenous community can receive healing programming in addition to stable housing that is imbedded in Indigenous tradition and culture in all aspects of program delivery. The DBHC will provide clients with teachings and resources necessary to heal, live a balanced lifestyle - according to the principals of the medicine wheel, and to ultimately gain housing stability.

**Key Accountabilities**:
**_Administrative: _**
- Develop, implement, and maintain a monthly work plan that meets the unique needs of the urban Indigenous clients, and the overarching requirements of the Diamond Bailey.
- Track the DBHC program budget and maintain concise financial records of all expenditures
- Compile various reports for the MNFC, various funders, stakeholders, and community.
- Utilize, maintain, and input client information into the MNFC Database.
- Maintain accurate, concise, and current client files according to professional and organizational service standards.
- Uphold client confidentiality.
- Develop accurate monthly/quarterly/annual reports and ensure reports are submitted in a timely manner.
- Develop client files and implement an organization system; ensure files are kept confidential.

**_Client Support: _**
- Ensure that program delivery is congruent with the Mi’kmaw Native Friendship Centre’s mission, vision, and philosophy by representing the unique needs within the urban Indigenous community.
- Develop and facilitate programming and workshops focused on Indigenous culture with the goal of helping clients to learn valuable teachings and skills that will aid them on their healing journey.
- Meet with Diamond Bailey clients individually on a monthly basis to develop personalized goals and case plans that focus around Indigenous culture, personal spiritual/cultural experience, and balancing their lives based on the teachings of the medicine wheel.
- Research opportunities to provide clients with local Mi’kmaw land-based teachings, and coordinate group excursions that will connect clients to our traditional lands and ways of being.
- Practice and maintain a positive leadership role; lead by example with non-judgemental, client-centred, two-eyed seeing (Etuaptmumk) support.
- Show initiative and creativity in developing programs and services that increase cultural knowledge and practices, and work toward bettering accessibility for Indigenous peoples.
- Maintain a workplace and participatory environment that meets the cultural and wholistic needs of Indigenous clients. Indigenous culture and traditional teachings should be displayed appropriately to create a welcoming environment and experience for the urban Indigenous population.

**_Communications: _**
- Ensure a positive, healthy, safe, and culturally vibrant programming environment that fosters client participation and community building.
- Represent the DBHC at Indigenous and non-Indigenous community initiatives and gatherings.
- Network and build relationships with other Indigenous knowledge keepers and elders, to be able to provide the Diamond Bailey clients with a larger variety of teachings and knowledge.
- Establish working relationships and collaborative arrangements with Indigenous and non-Indigenous housing and homelessness organizations, to create referral opportunities for ineligible clients, or those who have completed their Diamond Bailey programming.

**_Other Duties: _**
- Attend and participate in professional development opportunities as required.
- Commit to the development of the MNFC and participate in internal committees, projects and activities.
- Adhere to all Diamond Bailey Healing Centre and Mi’kmaw Native Friendship Centre policies.
- May perform other related duties as assigned.

**Qualifications**:

- Minimum of 7 years' experience working with Indigenous communities, and 3 years of project management or supervisory experience; or an adequate combination of both.
- Comprehensive cultural knowledge is required; preferably with experience in facilitating and providing others with those teachings.
- Previous experience in mental health, working with alcohol/substance dependency considered an asset.
- Comprehensive knowledge of existing community resources for the urban Indigenous population that are available to clients.
