**Duties and Responsibilities**

The associate’s primary functions and responsibilities are as follows:

- Greet and welcome the new employees (operations) as soon as they arrive to the plant.
- Conduct and perform new hire orientations and onboarding sessions, with safety tour as priority.
- Assign the lockers to the new employees.
- Administer the time and attendance on ADP.
- Process documentation and prepare reports relating to personnel attendance.
- Assist with day to day operations of the HR functions and duties in your shift.
- Ensure effective usage of various HR forms.
- Manage the visual communication on the TV’s and monitor the cameras in both facilities.
- Enforce safety rules in your shift.
- Report and investigate the workplace incident.
- Properly handle the WSIB policy in your shift.
- Compile and update the modified duties for the production employees.
- Doing monthly performance evaluation for employees.
- Update the trackers related to the list of people on LOA, maternity, list of temporary associates, etc.
- Manage effective inter-departmental and intra-departmental communication.
- Process disciplinary procedure with employees not adhering to workplace compliance.
- File and organize the onboarding records and the training follow up questionnaires.
- Drive employee engagement and recognition activities in coordination with the production supervisors (safety contest, employee of the month etc.).
- Investigate, support and make recommendations on the resolution of human resources issues, rules, and regulations to the HR manager.
- Facilitate the employees with any documentation requested for (Employee Reference Letters, Shift Transfers, etc.)
- Perform other assigned duties.
- Follow Health and Safety rules and regulations.
- Must follow Good Manufacturing Practices, Food Safety, and Food Defense guidelines.
- Comply with all Company policies and procedures.

**Qualifications**:

- Post-secondary degree in Human Resources (preferred)
- Previous experience in recruitment, payroll, and/or benefit administration an asset.
- Good understanding knowledge of human resources principles, best practices and applicable HR legislation
- Advanced computer skills including experience with HRIS and Microsoft Office products
- Excellent organizational skills
- Strong communications skills
- Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise.
- Multitasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks.
- Customer service attitude.
- Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
