**Position Overview**:
Under the direction of the Manager, Volunteer Services, and while demonstrating a commitment to the Mission, Vision and Values of St. Boniface Hospital, the COORDINATOR, VOLUNTEER SERVICES is responsible for supervising the daily operations of volunteer services; This includes recruiting, supervising, training, providing orientation and conducting performance appraisals for volunteers; and performing other related duties as assigned.

**Experience**:

- Two(2) years experience working in the volunteer services sector including: recruitment, interviewing, screening, problem solving, supervising, orientation and training, program planning, effective relationships with volunteers and referral agencies, implementing formal and informal recognition, awareness of current trends and issues, experience working with referral agents and clients.
- One(1) year supervisory experience.
- Note: An equivalent combination of education and experience, as deemed recognized by the Hospital, may be considered in lieu of the above._

**Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)**:

- Grade XII or recognized equivalent.
- Successful completion of a recognized post secondary certificate/diploma program, preferably in volunteer services or health care administration.

**Certification/Licensure/Registration**:

- Active Manitoba Association for Volunteer Administration (MAVA) member.

**Qualifications and Skills**:

- Knowledge of Volgistics or similar data base systems.
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand both official languages will be an asset.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Demonstrated supervisory and organizational skills.
- Ability to coordinate the work of others.
- Ability to interact well with others.
- Ability to supervise a variety of tasks and function in a high volume office with frequent interruptions.
- Bilingual in English/French language would be an asset.
