Bilingual Outside Sales Representative

We have a career opportunity for an assertive, dynamic, and highly motivated bilingual Outside Sales Representative for the Quebec and Maritimes region to uncover and finalize sales opportunities with an emphasis on Power Utilities and High Voltage Contractors. Targeting both existing and new clientele, you will identify accounts where LTL can position its extensive line of products and expertise. This is a challenging role in a recession-proof industry. As a member of our national sales team, you will be required to communicate effectively and have outstanding attention to detail.
LTL UTILITY SUPPLY, Division of Lineman's Testing Laboratories of Canada ("LTL"), is a privately owned Canadian company specializing in the utility and industrial sectors. Established in 1958 as a leading high voltage electrical service provider, LTL has diversified and progressively expanded over the years. Today, LTL UTILITY SUPPLY distributes a large range of quality, brand name industry-related electrical and safety products including electrical apparatus and pole line equipment, utility tools and related equipment, insulating rubber goods/personal protective and Arc Rated equipment, as well as confined space equipment. LTL offers product recertification, calibration and tool/equipment repair in its full service NAIL-accredited high voltage testing facilities. LTL successfully maintains a loyal customer base across Canada and is recognized and respected for its integrity, and long-term business relationships. LTL, headquartered in Toronto, provides quality products, comprehensive electrical services, and cost-effective solutions with sales offices and distribution centre’s across Canada.
- Fluent in French and English. Must be able to communicate in both languages verbally and written.
- A driven sales performer with a proven track record of exceeding targets and increasing sales performance and profitability across an account base/territory, gained through prior and recent outside sales experience within the Power Utility and Electrical Contractor industry.
- A strong communicator with knowledge of, and relationships within the Electrical Contractor and Power Utility industry.
- A highly motivated, self-directed individual with a competitive streak, who thrives on building and sustaining a business.
- A professional with diversified electrical utility and distribution product knowledge developed through at least five (5) years of progressive experience in the Power Utility and Electrical Industrial markets.
- Knowledgeable in the selling process, accompanied by the ability to work independently and manage your time and territory effectively within a competitive environment.
- Knowledgeable and experienced in specifying new products into the Utilities via the Engineering group, Purchasing Department and/or obtaining buy-in from the end users and stakeholders.
- A team-player with excellent interpersonal, customer service, and presentation skills.
- PC savvy and has extensive knowledge of Outlook, CRM and MS Office Suite.
- Required to have a post secondary education or relevant experience.
You will achieve planned sales goals by:
- Establishing sound sales strategies and approaching customers directly and quickly, establishing influence and professional credibility.
- Using a high level of relevant product knowledge, you’ll promote products and services while building and maintaining strong customer relationships.
- Actively engage colleagues and resources regularly to provide a complete customer solution in order to capitalize on opportunities.
- Working effectively and sharing market and competitor information with others within the organization to accomplish organizational goals and to identify and resolve problems.
- Developing new prospects and interacting with existing customers to increase sales utilizing knowledge of core customers and LTL’s product line.
- Developing a plan to grow your business and fully implement this plan with assistance from various resources (Inside Sales, Vice President-Sales, Marketing & Vendors).
- Forecasting, prospecting and bidding for new business
- Managing a territory and customer records, produce weekly call reports and communicate regularly with the Vice President-Sales.
Critical to your success in the role will be your ability to prospect new business opportunities and to develop, maintain and manage strong and lasting relationships with our Utility based customers and contractor partners.
Compensation package includes a base salary, commission plan, car allowance, communication tools, expenses and benefits. This opportunity requires some travel. You must have a valid driver’s license.
