**Responsibilities**:
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Develops, administers and markets elements of the TravelSmart Program and the Transportation Demand Management Program (TDM) including:
a) initiating, developing and maintaining contacts with government agencies such as the GVRD and industry associations such as The Board of Trade, to gather relevant information identifying opportunities for co-sponsorship of programs or enhancing the TravelSmart program and employer services, reviewing related proposals from external groups and making recommendations for appropriate action.

b) Developing, recommending and producing marketing materials to promote expansion of the TravelSmart Program in conjunction with in-house and external resources,

c) recruiting new TravelSmart partners through a variety of sales strategies such as phone calls, campaigns, verbal presentation, and displays targeting senior management of private and public sector organizations, or associations for TravelSmart outreach,

d) creating opportunities to promote the activities of TravelSmart individuals and municipalities.

e) initiating contact with municipal staff on a regular basis to determine needs and opportunities,

f) representing TransLink to assist with networking, ongoing education and advocacy objectives,

g) maintaining and updating TransLink’s Transportation Demand Management library (books, publications, etc.),

h) maintaining all current materials with up-to-date information on TDM/TravelSmart related initiatives of public and private sector agencies, and coordinating external resources such as technical writers, design firms and printing houses as necessary,

i) responding to questions on initiatives comprising the TravelSmart program.

j) scheduling regular classes, coordinating appropriate guest speakers and additional printed materials, maintaining inventory of supplies including OnBoard manuals, certificates and pins, updating the OnBoard databases and monitoring the program budget

2. Develops, recommends and implements modifications and additions to TransLink’s existing TDM and TravelSmart programs, leading to the establishment of a comprehensive portfolio of employer services designed to facilitate OnBoard’s trip reduction efforts such as outreach programs.

3. Assists in the research, identification, mail-outs, follow-up and presentations to all new and potential TravelSmart partners.

4. Assists in the delivery of the TravelSmart training workshops.

5. Liaises with internal groups, individuals, and departments within the TransLink enterprise to coordinate the delivery of TransLink services or assistance to employers.

6. Develops components of the annual TravelSmart outreach Plan including the budget and the implementation schedule. Provides a breakdown of costs associated with specific projects within their allocated budgets. Reviews and validates supplier invoices and funding requests for approval by the Manager.

7. Directs TransLink’s internal Trip Reduction Program (TRP) including chairing the TRP Committee, coordinating TRP components and the ongoing evaluation of the program, and developing and recommending proposals for program enhancements to the senior management team.

8. Assists in the development of new TravelSmart initiatives including research, networking, development of design, materials, marketing, and pilot programs.

9. Attends events such as workshops, transportation fairs, and trade shows, Community Events to represent TransLink’s TDM and TravelSmart programs.

10. Performs related duties as assigned, such being items of minor nature that do not affect the value of the job.

Completion of a one (1) year certificate program in Marketing, Communications, Event Management or equivalent. Requires two (2) years directly related program development and delivery experience, including extensive public speaking and successful direct marketing experience.
