**Role Overview**:
The Coordinator, D-Camps (Huronda) provides leadership to the summer camp programs and year-round program operations. They must ensure the program delivery is in alignment with the guiding principles of the D-Camps National Guidelines and any relevant provincial camping association standards. This position is responsible for all program areas of camp and directly supports the seasonal leadership team during program operations.
The Coordinator will be responsible for, but not limited to, developing and executing high quality programs, completing required purchasing, supporting the hiring and onboarding of seasonal programs, medical staff and volunteers. They will also be working with key vendors and facilitating inter-departmental co-operation to ensure successful camp operations.

**Location**:
1252 S Waseosa Lake Rd, Huntsville, ON P1H 2N4. Employee is required to work onsite for the duration of program operations. Flexible work agreement policy in place allowing employees to work on a hybrid schedule during non-peak seasons.

**This role includes, but not limited to**:

- Coordinate, plan and implement D-Camps programs in accordance with program plans, as established and scheduled by the Sr Manager, D-Camps Program.
- Coordinating, planning, and implementing year-round programs including the representation and promotion of D-Camps to the local, provincial, and camping communities.
- Function as program lead for all assigned year-round programs with responsibility for the supervision and evaluation of program staff at on-site programs.
- Supervise the hiring, on-boarding and payroll for staff and volunteers in accordance with Diabetes Canada’s policies and procedure.
- Engage in operational planning and collaborate with others to ensure high standards of service and program delivery.
- Work in partnership with all D-Camps staff and volunteers to ensure alignment with D-Camps national guidelines and provincial camping association standards, and industry best practices.
- Understand the importance of the volunteer staff partnership and integrate the value of philanthropy and volunteerism in dealings with members, volunteers, donors, staff, and all stakeholders.
- Ensure the culture and community at camp is focused on a positive experience for all campers, staff, and volunteers; cultivate relationships with alumni and camp families.
- Ensure that all requirements for peer reviews, audits and Ministry requirements are met through staff training, program setup, surveys, and staff management.
- Ensure all programs and program areas are proactive in health and safety, risk management plans are in place and all audit requirements are met.
- With guidance from the Sr. Manager, Camp Huronda ensure that all program related expenses are in line with budget requirements and adaptations are made throughout the season to remain on budget.
- Understand the legal responsibility and moral imperative to recognize and report suspected child abuse to the Children’s Aid Society.
- Provide assistance and cooperation to the Joint Health and Safety Committee and Health and Safety representatives in carrying out any of their health and safety functions.
- Participate in training, and train or ensure training is provided to employees, contractors & volunteers on safe job procedures, safety policies and procedures, reporting requirements and emergency procedure protocols.
- Relevant post-secondary education
- 3 - 5 years of camp leadership experience including staff and/or volunteer management experience
- Proven camp experience with both staff and volunteer supervision and management expertise
- Valid Driving License
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to confidently resolve conflict and work with a variety of personalities
- Ability to set and achieve business and team goals
- Strong organizational skills & ability to prioritize effectively
- Collaborative relationship-builder
- Proficient with MS Office suite of products, Teams, and database management
