**The Program**:
Pathways to Prevention is a program within the Hull Services continuum that is rooted in the Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics (NMT) and Touchpoints. As a Phase II certified site in the Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics and a new Touchpoints Training Site, Pathways uses these models as a framework for providing clinical and consultation services as well as training and education to other providers, and across the community.

**The Position**:
We are looking for a **Full Time Research Coordinator for a 3 year contract position with a possibility of extension, depending on grant funding.**

Reporting to the Director of Research, the Research Coordinator will oversee day-to-day research operations for studies on the prevention and treatment of childhood trauma.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Scheduling and coordinating research meetings involving academic researchers, clinicians, administrators and people with lived experience
- Recruiting children, adolescents, caregivers, and professionals to take part in research studies
- Administering surveys and standardized assessments to research participants
- Conducting qualitative interviews and focus groups with research participants
- Managing study databases and ensuring proper data storage
- Analyzing quantitative and qualitative data
- Preparing written reports and presentations for a variety of audiences (e.g. clients, clinicians, researchers)
- Maintaining a continuous learning mindset and participating in ongoing professional development activities

**Qualifications and Skills**:

- Degree in social science, biomedical science, child care, social work or related field (Master’s preferred; Bachelor’s will be considered with enough experience)
- At least 2 years of experience with research and working with children and families
- Knowledgeable about youth mental health, child trauma, and trauma-informed practice
- Familiar with clinical environments, social services administration, and the child welfare system
- Understanding of ethics in research involving human participants
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint is required
- Proficiency with software for data collection or analysis is an asset (e.g. REDCap, SPSS, NVivo)
- Compassionate and engaging personality who can rapidly build rapport with children, adolescents and adults
- Exceptional organization and attention-to-detail
- Passion for research and ability to develop expertise in new research fields and research methods
- Excellent interpersonal qualities including flexibility, effective communication and relationship building skills
- Demonstrated interest, commitment, consistency, and a high level of self-awareness, personal maturity and responsibility
- Ability to work independently and effectively with team
- Self-motivated, positive and ability to take initiative
- Cross cultural competence; knowledge of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission and the recommendations, goals and activities of the commission.
- A Police Information Check, which includes a vulnerable sector search, is required (or is in process of being completed) prior to employment.
- A Child Intervention Record Check is required upon commencement of employment.
