The Opportunity

Reporting to the Director, Revenue Management the Sales Finance Manager - Canada is responsible for the financial stewardship of the Sales organization as well as supporting Canopy Growth’s BioSteel business unit’s global trade management initiatives. This role will have ownership over duties related to BioSteel’s global trade spend investment, including but not limited to actual trade spend reporting, trade spend accruals, trade deduction validation including customer driven post audits. The Sales Finance Manager will also be responsible for supporting the business in other areas including, but not limited to, customer profitability, account analysis, and planning.

**Responsibilities**:
- Foster strong cross-functional relationships with Sales, Finance, Accounting, Trade Marketing and Revenue Management to ensure an integrated approach to trade spend management- Coordinate and manage monthly cross-functional team trade management and deduction status updates with Sales, Accounts Receivable, and Finance for all major customers / groups- Implement, document, and maintain all trade deduction SOPs- Manage a team accountable for overseeing all activities related to trade deductions including validation, reconciliation, approvals, post-audits, accruals, control activities, and disputes- Provide analytical support, including business case modelling, for the Revenue Management and Sales teams to enable profitable and sound decision making with respect to financial and market impacts- Oversee complex pricing processes ensuring timely processing, robust reporting, and appropriate documentation of price adjustments and their associated impacts including, but not limited to, inventory buydowns (customer price protection), trade deductions, listing fees, and promotions- Support annual planning processes from a trade investment perspective by providing trade spend reporting, analytics, customer profitability reviews, and timely maintenance of inputs into trade tracking tools and the Trade Promotion Management (TPM) system- Prepare periodic reporting materials to drive key business decisions and financial reviews with senior management and sales leadership- Educate Sales teams on key financial metrics ensuring alignment to strategic priorities such as trade spend updates for key customers, variance analysis relative to forecast, and P&L bookings by channel / customer- Develop and maintain tools and processes to support the attainment of trade spend targets- Proactively identify system and process improvements related to trade spend and investment- Ad-hoc projects and tasks based on the needs of the business- Other duties as assigned

Experience- Undergraduate degree in business with a focus on Accounting and/or Finance- Accounting designation (CPA, CA, CMA) or MBA preferred- 5+ years of progressive Accounting or Finance experience in a Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) environment- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability resolve conflicts and distil complex financial information into actionable insights with internal and external stakeholders- Previous experience in Trade Finance or Sales Finance is an asset- Self-starter with experience building out and growing a new team- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience working with multiple ERPs (Sage X3, SAP S4/HANA, Oracle NetSuite)

This is a hybrid position based out of of Toronto,ON with presence on-site for 2 days per week.
