**Opportunity**:Building Code Operations Specialist**
- Providing communication and training to internal stakeholders and municipal clients focusing on best practices within municipal Building Department operations. This will include in-person and virtual sessions as well as published articles.
- Distilling complex federal and provincial changes to laws and policies providing context and relevance to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Creating and strengthening relationships with municipal clients specific to the administration of building code/planning act legislation.
- Leveraging your acumen and reputation in the industry to consult with lawmakers, industry associations, and other industry stakeholders across the country.
- Providing technical assistance to claims professionals with incidents that involve a municipality’s building department.
- Contributing to risk assessments of municipal clients with a focus on Building Department best practices, qualifications, etc.
- Creating and communicating emergency management training and preparedness plans specific to the coordination of building departments within the administrative branch of a municipality.
**What you bring to the table**:
- Minimum 10 years of relevant work experience.
- Fully accredited (OBOA-CBCO) and willing to obtain and maintain certifications in other provinces/territories.
- Post-secondary education specific to the role.
- Experience liaising with all levels of municipal government including municipal protective services/compliance management, and emergency management stakeholders.
- Willingness to travel to advise and assist municipal clients across Canada (primarily Ontario)
- Working toward insurance designations (CIP or CRM) is an asset.
- Excellent written/oral communication skills as well as strong presentation skills.
- Highly organized to manage workflow efficiently.
