Calgary, Canada Alberta Health Services Full time

Your Opportunity:
Alberta Children’s Hospital is a vibrant workplace with staff partnering together with youth & families to provide service to children and families in inpatient units & ambulatory clinics. Reporting to the Manager for Complex Care, the Project Manager (PM) is a professional position supporting the Pediatric Complex Care program at the Alberta Children’s Hospital (ACH), with the primary focus of implementing and evaluating a Project ECHO (Extensions for Community Healthcare Outcomes) program for pediatric complex care in Southern Alberta. Project ECHO is a hub & spoke model where participants present complex care cases to the expert hub and to each other for discussion & recommendations using videoconferencing technology. As a result of this community of practice, the collective understanding of a particular topic area and how to disseminate & implement best practices across diverse disciplines continuously improves and expands. The PM applies project management, change management, risk management and quality & process improvement methodology towards the execution of this work. Outcomes will include improved community practitioners’ ability to care for their complex patients’ needs in the community, and decreased use of emergency and tertiary care services. Knowledge of clinical systems, as well as the literature, resources & research related to Complex Care is important for this role. This position will not incorporate any direct patient care, although consultation with a range of AHS & community healthcare providers will be required. This role requires working with a high degree of independence & accountability, and in concert with project stakeholders and clinical, operational and physician leaders. Relationship management, conflict management, and excellent communication are important components of the position.
