**What you **will do**:

- Manage and perform field survey work with the support of Survey Assistants.
- Liaise with Project Managers to coordinate and complete field survey work in accordance with the project budgets, schedules, priorities, and survey methodology.
- Establish geodetic project control networks to the highest industry standards and in accordance with municipal, provincial, and federal standards when applicable.
- Perform precision monitoring of structures, including buildings, roads, bridges, and railways, to ensure stability and detect any changes or movement.
- Conduct surveys of infrastructure to determine position, alignment, and other necessary information for construction and/or maintenance related to transportation projects.
- Liaise with client field representatives and landowners and be a brand ambassador for GeoVerra.
- Prepare neat field notes, sketches, checklists, and digital data in required formats for different audiences.
- Provide guidance, training and mentorship to Survey Assistants.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of industry best practices, efficient field processes and procedures and the innovative use of new technology.
- Proactively participate in and support the GeoVerra safety program.
- Complete office technical survey tasks as required and other duties as assigned.

**What you will bring**:

- Diploma/Degree in a post-secondary program related to surveying and geomatics or an equivalent experience.
- Strong working knowledge of survey equipment and software such as total stations, digital levels, and static, rapid-static, and real-time network GNSS.
- Experience using 0.5”/1” robotic total stations with sets of angles methodology is an asset.
- Strong knowledge of precision monitoring techniques, including monitoring systems, instrumentation, monitoring-specific targets, data analysis, and reporting.
- Demonstrated experience in railway surveying, including track alignment, topographic surveys, and construction layout.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in land surveying, with a focus on precision monitoring and railway surveys.
- Experience of Trimble equipment and software, laser scanning and line locating considered an asset.
- Strong problem-solving skills in a field environment.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills with the capacity to produce accurate and legible field notes.
- The ability to develop and motivate survey staff and work well in a team environment.
- An aptitude for delivering projects on time and budget.
- A valid driver’s license and can provide a clean driver’s abstract; and
- Successful completion of pre-employment drug and alcohol screening as per the limits provided in the Canadian Model for Providing a Safe Workplace

**Job Conditions**:

- Ability to carry, lift and push 50lbs on a regular basis.
- Ability to work outside in all weather conditions.
- Possible shift work and the ability to travel out of town may be required.
