Vantage Venues is downtown Toronto’s premier center for conferences and events. We are an ideas incubator and a communication hub, removing barriers, connecting, and inspiring guests in both the physical and virtual space.

We are a passionate and dynamic company looking for an experienced, resourceful professional to coordinate corporate and private events, as well as manage administration and logistics in support of managers in a busy conference center environment. We look to discover strengths and find the best way to utilize them. Duties may be added or remove as the position develops.

Specific Accountabilities
- Oversees and coordinates event details such as food and beverage, audiovisual equipment, signage and appropriate décor (florals, linens, color schemes, etc.).
- Manages and orders supplies.
- Gathers information on each booking to achieve quality event productions.
- Creates and revises room layouts for events.
- Proposes new ideas to improve meetings and events planning and the implementation process.
- Serves as a liaison with vendors on event-related matters.
- Coordinate’s appointments and visits to tour our space, and schedules meetings and events on the calendar.
- Prepares and modifies contracts as requested.
- Anticipates project needs, discerns work priorities, and meets deadlines.
- Champions the Vantage Venues vision.
- Gathers guests’ feedback and recommends improvements.
- Negotiates and books event space when required.
- Availability to work predominantly daytime with some evening hours.

Required Skills and Experience
- Must be an enthusiastic professional, with demonstrated ability to build relationships.
- Fantastic customer service ethic and high expectations for quality.
- Strong sales skills imperative.
- Excellent communication skills, including writing, proof reading skills, and speaking.
- Excellent interpersonal skills both in person and by phone, with a high degree of professionalism.
- Ability to accomplish projects with little supervision.
- At least 3 years’ experience coordinating special events in a professional capacity.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks with an appropriate sense of urgency in a fast-paced environment with little supervision.
- Has precise attention to detail and a love for meetings and events.
- Ability to influence indirectly to achieve results.
- Must possess a strong attention to detail.
- Highly motivated and very hands-on.
- English proficiency required. Additional languages beneficial.

Preferred Skills and Experience
- ‘Event Temple’ event management software experience is a strong asset
- _Wedding planning experience is an asset._
- High school diploma: additional certification in hospitality is a plus.

**Salary**: From $52,000.00 per year
