FIFA 2026 is getting closer and BC Place is hiring an Advisor, Special Projects to work closely with the General Manager to facilitate and provide input to the development of BCP’s strategic plans, processes and practices, and to help ensure the ongoing execution and delivery of initiatives throughout the stadium ecosystem. The Advisor will act as a key representative in the stadium, and with stakeholders. The position is responsible for gathering, analyzing, and communicating meaningful information, tracking projects, and ensuring the continued progress of multiple key initiatives at once.

The Advisor is relied upon to build strong relationships, and to coordinate and liaise with internal and external stakeholders of BC Place. This position requires an energetic, detail-oriented individual with exceptional planning and organization skills who can be flexible, and meet stringent deadlines.

You will be a natural problem solver, a bold ideator, and a determined executor. You appreciate the big picture while having an eye for detail, and “getting things done” is just the way you operate. Most importantly, you understand that the key to your success is in building great working relationships. The Advisor is both strategic and tactical.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Supports the General Manager with a variety of operational, strategic, communications, and project related tasks.
- Plays a key role in preparation and planning for FIFA World Cup 2026 Vancouver, including managing stadium deliverables, and works closely with partners such as the City of Vancouver and the provincial government on integrated project deliverables.
- The lead project manager for the GM office, working closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure continual project progress.
- Facilitates the ongoing tracking of key stadium projects and initiatives, including digital reporting and supporting employee engagement.
- Manages the transition of projects from strategic initiatives stage into business operations for execution, adoption and/or ongoing maintenance.
- Identifies key metrics and measures of success for initiatives within business plans and action plans. Monitors the achievement of strategic priorities, provides support and advice to help ensure success.
- Supports in the initial research and business case development of new stadium initiatives.
- Prepares presentations and supporting documentation as needed for GM.
- Liaison for key internal committees and cross functional areas across PavCo.
- Cultivates strong relationships internally and with external partners to maintain and advance identified priorities and key initiatives.
- Manages conflicting priorities and projects with tight deadlines effectively managing and providing oversight as needed.
- Summarizes and briefs the GM on arising issues impacting BC Place.

**WHAT YOU WILL BRING**:

- Combined post-secondary education in political science, communications or business, you have a track record of 5 - 7 years’ progressive experience in business planning, event management, project management ideally in sports, entertainment and event environment.
- Very strong business acumen, with both analytical and creative problem-solving skills.
- Highly organized, with a laser-like focus on the details to proactively manage various projects on behalf of the GM.
- Work cross-functionally to successfully implement new projects and initiatives using effective change management.
- A keen sense of empathy and perspective to assess situations, and in turn solutions, through an informed lens of different facets of our iconic venue.
- Enjoyment of sports and entertainment.
- Strong presentation skills with ability to create professional presentation materials reflective of the PavCo brand.
- High degree of comfort engaging with and presenting to varied audiences, with the ability to create varying forms of polished communications from scratch.
- The ability to be able to perform each essential duty with energy and enthusiasm.
- Experience, creativity and resourcefulness to always get the job done.
- Analytical mind with a high degree of organization and attention to detail.
- Sound judgement, maturity, and the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Ability to develop meaningful relationships and influence multiple stakeholders with diverse experience and backgrounds
