**The Role** **

Reporting to Maintenance Engineering Manager, the manufacturing assistant is part of an 8-16-month program to get an introduction into manufacturing maintenance and engineering. The manufacturing assistant is responsible for performing various administrative and production related tasks in a manufacturing setting.

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES***
- Maintain 5s and safe working environment.
- Work with various manufacturing and maintenance engineers, production operators and staff to improve overall manufacturing processes by implementing WCM & company standards.
- Provide support for operational and quality issues as required.
- Assist the team with identification of areas of improvement and suggest solutions.

**OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Maintains work area in a professional manner.
- Aid other team members as needed
- Provides ideas to further the growth of the department.
- Performs other related duties that contribute to the success of the operation as assigned.

**Requirements** PREFERRED OR DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS**
- Must be currently enrolled student.
- Effective written and oral communications, listening skills, ability to organize and retrieve information, and display adaptability.
- Ability to work in a team-based environment with little supervision.
- Requires computer skills and must be familiar with Microsoft Office products

**Additional Requirements** WORKING CONDITIONS***

Works on site 5 day a week (Monday to Friday) in a manufacturing plant environment, exposure to dust, chemicals, temperature changes and noise. Minimum of 40 hours per week. Work hours are 8 am to 4 pm.

Normal Plant operation is 24 hours, 7 days a week.

**PLANT SAFETY CULTURE REQUIREMENTS**

**Employee Safety Responsibilities Include but are not Limited to**:

- Understand basic LOCK OUT TAG OUT principles
- always Wearing PPE in the course of job responsibilities
- Following plant and WCM Safety practices and procedures
- Immediately report any unsafe conditions

**PHYSICAL DEMANDS***

Must be able to wear mandated personal protective equipment per areas accessed to comply with government and company safety standards.

Job includes tasks that require standing, walking, bending, twisting, gripping, cutting, stairs and ladder climbing.
