**Customer Care Representative (Service Ontario)**

In the role of Customer Care Representative, you will act as a specialist, providing our customers with total services solutions. By being curious and detail-oriented, you will solve problems, answer questions and ensure all needs of the customer are met, including anticipating their needs based on the services provided. You can handle escalated customer interactions with professionalism and tact.

**You will provide**:

- Provide quality in-person, front counter customer services by providing timely and accurate information related to government programs, products and services in a retail and customer service oriented environment
- Provide interpretation of guidelines, directives and procedures
- Provide guidance and support to customers in completing documents and forms, and in the use of public access workstations (i.e., online small business registration)
- Provide guidance and support to customers experiencing problems accessing or obtaining specialized information, and refer to the appropriate program area or organization for resolution
- Process business and individual customer transactions, determining that eligibility requirements are met and obtaining required documents
- Collect and process payments, issuing refunds, and reconcile payments with transactions
- Maintain files and electronic database systems
- Produce a variety of reports and correspondence

**Some of what you need**:

- Engage with customers in a friendly and professional manner and resolve customer concerns in a diplomatic manner.
- Communicate with customers effectively using a variety of mediums
- Ability to plan, organize and prioritize to effectively serve our customers
- Ability to work effectively with ongoing distractions is necessary
- Attention to details to ensure accuracy of form completion
- Use software such as Microsoft Office, database programs and the Internet to access and retrieve information; to prepare correspondence and reports; and to conduct research
- Arithmetic skills to calculate fees, collect and balance monies for the sale of publications, products and services, and to balance, close off a department and prepare reports and deposits

**Financial and Administrative Skills**:

- You have experience handling cash, and operating cash registers and point of sale machines to process monetary transactions;
- You can accurately calculate fees, collect money, balance floats, prepare deposits and reports
- You have administrative skills and can accurately maintain filing systems

**Computer Skills**:

- You have experience using computers (i.e. Intranet, Internet, databases, and electronic manuals) to research, retrieve and summarize information

**Hours of work**:Monday through Friday, 8:45am-4:45pm (40 hours), starting at $20.00/hour which will be reviewed once training is complete

Pay: From $20.00 per hour
