**About Woodbridge Sports Dome Summer Champ Camp**

Woodbridge Sports Dome Summer Champ Camp offers summer sports programming for boys and girls ages 4-16. At Markham Sports Dome we believe that sports are an important part of every child's development. We provide the highest quality of sports instruction with a safe and fun focus as the main priority.

**Sports Summer Camp Details**

The sports summer camp is a sports camp for boys and girls ages 4-13. It will be taking place at Woodbridge Sports Dome (7501 Martin Grove Road, Woodbridge). The camp will run for 9 weeks July 2 - August 30 between the hours of 8:00AM - 6:00PM, Monday - Friday.

**Responsibilities**

Reporting to the Facility Coordinator, the Lead Programmer (LP) will plan and develop day-to-day programming and special events for our summer sports camp program. The LP will supervise the Camp Coaches working in the Summer Camp program on a daily basis. LP's are to provide support and on-going direction/evaluations to all coaching staff. The LP will work directly with the facility coordinator in the preparation of camp, they will also be responsible for ordering supplies and equipment and completing administrative duties.

As the Director, you will play a pivotal role in creating a fun, safe, and enriching environment for children to learn and grow through sports, games, and recreational activities.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Program Development**: Design and develop a comprehensive summer camp program that integrates sports, recreational activities, arts and crafts, and team-building exercises.
- **Staff Management**: Train, and supervise camp coaches and volunteers. Provide ongoing guidance, support, and feedback to ensure a high level of performance and professionalism among the camp team.
- **Curriculum Planning**: Develop weekly schedules, activity plans, and lesson outlines that align with the camp's goals and objectives. Ensure that activities are age-appropriate, engaging, and promote skill development.
- **Safety and Risk Management**: Establish and enforce safety protocols and procedures to ensure the well-being of campers and staff at all times. Conduct regular safety inspections of facilities and equipment.
- **Parent Communication**: Serve as the primary point of contact for parents/guardians, providing regular updates, addressing concerns, and soliciting feedback to continually improve the camp experience.
- **Evaluation and Reporting**: Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the camp program, collecting feedback from campers, parents, and staff. Prepare reports summarizing camp activities, attendance, and achievements.

*Summer Camp starts July 2nd, 2024. If selected for the position, you would need to be available a couple weeks before the start of camp. You would need to prep schedules, market the camp, plan and organzine orientation for coaches. You must be available for all 9 weeks of Summer Camp*

**Qualifications**
- You must possess a High School Diploma.
- Currently enrolled in a related post-secondary field (recreation, physical education, early-childhood education, health sciences, kinesiology, concurrent education, etc..).
- High Five certification (preferred) and a current Standard First Aid & CPR C Certification mandatory.
- At least 5 years of camp employment experience (as counselor, programmer, director etc).
- You have the ability to effectively communicate with tact, courtesy, discretion and diplomacy with all levels of staff and the public.
- You are a team player with excellent analytical, administrative, organizational and problem-solving skills and written/oral communication skills.
