**Growing with Brock Research Participant Recruitment Coordinator**

The Growing with Brock Research Participant Recruitment Coordinator promotes community participation in research projects conducted by Psychology faculty members affiliated with Growing with Brock. They meet with core faculty, liase with and train lab personnel, maintain a database of research participants, and arrange community events to promote participation in faculty members’ research.

**As the Research Participant Recruitment Coordinator, you will**:

- Communicate the goals of the group’s research to community members, using comprehensible language to engage and sustain the interest of current and future participants.
- Coordinate the scheduling of research assistants from the core labs to assist in recruitment efforts.
- Network with community contacts.
- Organize recruitment events in the Greater St. Catharines area to promote participation in the group’s research projects.
- Maintain contact with members of Growing with Brock (those who have signed up to be in the database) and sustain their interest and engagement.
- Maintain regular, timely, and honest communication with supervisor; implement feedback.
- Provide reception duties when in the office.
- Develop and manage a database of current and past research participants.

**What you Need to Succeed **
- An undergraduate degree in Psychology, or other relevant discipline, which included research with human participants.
- 2+ years of experience working or volunteering on research recruitment projects in or with community agencies, within a post-secondary environment.
- Superior public relations and interpersonal skills with a variety of audiences.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team and demonstrated ability to work independently, reliably, and to take initiative.
- Ability to read and understand scientific literature and sound knowledge of research objectives and processes.
- Sound understanding of research objectives and processes.
- General understanding of human research ethics.
- Ability to understand the criteria for recruitment in different research projects and identify appropriate participants and their populations.
- Outstanding coordination skills to keep up-to-date with personnel and projects in affiliated labs.
- Strong computer proficiency including database management and Microsoft Office.
- Post-graduate training would be considered an asset.
- Irregular hours and frequent travel, including evenings and weekends may be required to attend community events.

**Salary Information**

$22.40 per hour plus 4% vacation pay. This is a part-time position.
