**This is a 12-Months fixed contract position.**

The Marketing and Communications Consultant is responsible for the end-to-end execution of a wide range of marketing deliverables within small
- to medium-sized projects including events and sponsorships. This role will work with internal stakeholders to understand market needs and business objectives to generate marketing concepts, manage the development and delivery of creative themes, images and copywriting for advisor and client-facing marketing vehicles. These concepts may include electronic, web, print, outdoor, events, radio and video media.

The Marketing and Communications Consultant defines, and works towards timelines that ensure all materials are delivered on time and meet established brand guidelines.

**What will you do?**
- Develop company, product and service marketing materials to capture the attention of the audience, drive sales and differentiate Sun Life Global Investments in the competitive market place
- Produce error-free copy that upholds and advances the Sun Life Global Investments brand, marketing goals and business objectives
- Follow the creative development process, including brainstorming activities, researching competitive marketing programs and matching design and vehicle to the target audience
- Develop the creative brief and collaborate effectively with project stakeholders to produce the best in class marketing
- Coordinate contracts with external vendors and oversee the logistics and execution of events including being onsite when necessary
- Manage inventory of booths, banner bugs, supplies and promotional items used at events
- Manage the SLGI Swag program, including inventory, product sourcing, website maintenance and budgeting
- Purchase coordinator for the Brand and Sponsorship team

Event Production:

- Initiate RFPs for hotel/venues based on parameters set out by Marketing Manager; consolidate RFP results to create a short list for the Marketing Manager and Director to select from
- Registration and attendee management including rooming lists and manifests
- Detailed project planning timelines, critical path, development and checkpoints
- Admin tasks including shipping
- On-line registration system building, testing and implementation
- Management of presentation slide decks including testing and on-site execution

Decision-Making Authority:

- Manage allocated budget and deliverables for individual projects

**What do you need to succeed?**
- Post-secondary education in related field (marketing, advertising, design, etc.)
- 3 years or more of combined experience in copywriting and design development
- 2 or more years in event management
- Demonstrated creativity, innovative thinking and enthusiasm
- Ability to write clear and effective copy in plain language
- Knowledge of sales and distributions processes
- In-depth knowledge of venue and space requirements
- Strong project management and analytical skills along with the ability to develop and implement event project plans
- Understanding of the financial services industry, its regulations and other complexities

**Unique requirements**:

- 20 - 30% travel required
- Ability to adapt one creative concept to multiple vehicles
- Technical appreciation for the development process of creative design across all media
