TOP Sports is looking to hire an experienced, organized, and passionate Camp Manager to oversee our summer hockey camps at North Toronto Arena in Midtown Toronto. For the summer of 2023, we will be offering hockey camps from July 3 to September 3. The Camp Manager will be responsible for overseeing day to day operations of the entire camp, which includes 40-50 campers and 8-10 staff each week.

**Experience leading a summer camp setting is required, as well as extensive experience working with youth in a sports setting. **All applicants should be VERY outgoing and bring plenty of energy, passion, and engagement to every day. Experience teaching hockey is required, plus experience with soccer, basketball, football, lacrosse, baseball, and camp games is an asset.

**Experience & Skills**
- **Extensive hockey coaching experience is required.**:

- Strong leadership and communication skills developed through previous supervisory roles along with the ability to provide exceptional customer service
- Experience developing programs and activities for children in a management or supervisory capacity
- Experience working in a leadership role or capacity at a day or overnight camp
- Experience planning, managing and operating major events or more specifically camps
- Well-developed interpersonal and relationship building skills: ability to establish rapport and maintain excellent communication with campers, parents, and coaches
- Experience playing and coaching team sports AND/OR extensive experience working with young children in a supervisory role as a teacher or early childhood educator
- Ability to encourage and motivate staff, and to acknowledge and appreciate the contributions of others
- Camp Managers will be required to become certified for Standard First Aid and CPR C if they do not already possess these certifications

**Accountability**:The Summer Camp Manager reports to the Camps Director

**Pre-Camp Hours**:10-15 hours working on preparation, onboarding, training, and summer camp planning. Mandatory camp training will take place June 27-28.

**Camp Hours**: Week of July 3 to the week of September 3, 8am-4pm Monday to Friday. No holidays or weekends.

**Responsibilities include**:

- Plan, guide, and oversee the summer camp program, which includes upwards of 40-50 campers and 8-10 staff on a weekly basis.
- Oversee summer camp staff, ensuring all staff are on-task and adhering to the TOP Sports Staff Code of Conduct.
- Oversee and implement all schedules for staff and campers related to daily programming.
- Address crisis management, discipline, and troubleshooting issues related to campers and/or staff.
- Communicate professionally with campers, parents, staff members, and other community members daily.
- Responsible for support in the creation and planning of daily camp activities and activity schedules.
- Responsible for recording any incident or medical reports, including allergies, injuries, and conflicts.
- Responsible for creation and execution of summer camp safety plan, including evacuation plan, inclement weather plan, and active threat plan.
- Coordination of all drop-off and pickup of campers throughout camp weeks, including any early pickups.
- Responsible for providing feedback to all summer camp staff, including weekly status meetings with the entire staff.
- Liaise with the Camp Director on changes that need to be made to summer camp programming on a weekly basis, including staff changes, programming changes, and policy updates.

Underscoring that belief was the idea that kids should be exposed to as many sports as possible during their youth, building athletic literacy, preventing early specialization, and developing multi-sport athletes.

Our goal at every camp is to have every camper arrive on Day 1 nervously excited to get started and leave at the end of the week with a new group of friends and burgeoning passion for sport. Our coaches strive to achieve our mantra of "sweaty heads & smiles" at the end of each day, providing a fun and safe experience for all campers.

Weekly salary for this position is $850.00 per week, plus a stipend for training/admin work before the camp begins.
