**Duties and Responsibilities**:
Responsible for identifying, promoting and managing high value/impact research funding
opportunities; analyzing funding criteria and success factors; providing expert advice and
incumbent’s responsibilities will emphasize supporting researchers across the Faculty of Arts
sources, as well as supporting and developing internal research programs and supports within
the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASS).

**Qualifications**:
The incumbent must possess the following qualifications:

- Knowledge of research and sector trends within the range of disciplines within FASS

processes
- Knowledge of relevant governmental funding agencies as well as governing legislation,

policies, and procedures
- Knowledge of FASS academic units and programs, as well as knowledge of the broader

university units, departments, and divisions
- Knowledge of project management and business development processes
- Knowledge of office productivity software and databases relevant to the disciplines

represented in FASS and the broader research administration function; internet browsers

and search engines, discipline-specific software, enterprise software, and technology

devices
- Knowledge of common theories, methods and topics in the social sciences and humanities
- Knowledge of cultural competency and diversity in a business context

**Education and Experience**:
The above is normally acquired through:

- Completion of doctoral degree (preferably in a discipline represented in FASS, i.e., the

arts or social sciences)

paired with business development experience
