**Summary of the role**

The RC will take on a coordination role for our research project building community partnerships with care providers and Ontario Health Teams. We aim to optimize care delivery for adults with cardiac and associated mental health conditions and/or cognitive impairment in Eastern Ontario by identifying resource gaps by mapping available services, documenting strengths and challenges in care delivery for adults with heart failure and mental health conditions, focusing on modifiable behavioural risk factors, and engaging care providers and service organizations to understand barriers and facilitators in providing care for this brain-heart dyad. Next phases of the project include developing pathways and toolkits to connect patients with high hospital use to preventative care and community resources, fostering relationships with primary care providers to encourage screening of cardiac patients for mental health/cognitive impairment, and working with community paramedics to expand the use of social prescribing into their scope of practice to better support adults with intersecting brain and heart conditions.

**Main duties and responsibilities**
- Oversee the day-to-day activities of the research project with general supervision
- Coordinate logistics for the research project, including facilitating meetings, establishing project schedules, timelines, and resources
- Assist with detailed planning, execution and monitoring of programmatic issues including schedules, progress, coordination, deliverables, milestones, and contracts
- Assist with the creation and justification of budgets based on grant contents
- Track and reconcile expenses against budget and projections of future expenses
- Assist with financial projections and drafting reports
- Draft service contracts and requisitions
- Provide support on the development and implementation of knowledge transfer
- Correspond with external stakeholders and investigators
- Work with investigator and team to ensure timely drafting and submission of reports, publications, presentations and grants
- Provide leadership, supervision and support to staff and students as required
- Assist with recruitment of staff and students as required

**Required Qualifications**
- Fluent in French and English
- A master’s degree in public policy, public health, health promotion, or a related discipline.
- An interest in health research, community-based research, and community engagement.
- 2+ years’ relevant leadership and/or project coordination experience, can be volunteer or extracurricular
- Strong attention to detail
- Exceptional communication skills, including written and verbal
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, manage overlapping project phases and meet deadlines
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills, including the ability to adapt to a dynamic project environment

- This position is based in Ottawa. The successful applicant can do most day-to-day work remotely or be provided with office space at 85 Primerose Ave if desired. The successful applicant but must be available to conduct in-person data collection, meetings, knowledge sharing, partnership building, etc. in Ottawa and the surrounding area on an as needed basis. The successful applicant must also be available to travel occasionally (3-4 times per year) to academic conferences and mandatory in-person team meetings._
