**The Opportunity**:
The MHAA Program provides a full spectrum of mental health services that includes outpatient community mental health, day treatment and residential services of children and adolescents, inpatient hospital care, forensics, and addictions. The current position is within our Community Mental Health Service. Responsibilities include providing evidence based assessments, consultations, and interventions (individual, family, group) for youth 3 -19 years of age. We welcome applicants with a variety of expertise; however, however, those with an interest in and/or experience with treatment of school-age children and adolescents with autism and other neurodevelopmental disorders (e.g. behavioral analysis and cognitive behavioral therapy used in treatment of mental health issues associated with autism), are particularly welcome to apply.

**Hours of Work**:
Monday
- Friday, 7.5 hrs/day - some evening work.

**Your Qualifications**:

- Ph.D/ PsyD Degree in Clinical Psychology from an accredited university program required.
- Completion of an APA or CPA Accredited Predoctoral Internship in Psychology required.
- Currently registered with or eligible to be registered with the NS Board of Examiners in Psychology.
- Formal training and clinical experience in child/adolescent mental health preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to assess and treat a broad range of mental health populations.
- Demonstrated ability to use evidence-based assessment and treatment methods.
- Demonstrated ability to consult with professional and para-professional staff.
- Demonstrated ability to diagnose and formulate treatment protocols for a wide range of adolescent mental health issues.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively consult with other health, social service and education agencies.
- Demonstrated ability to work well as part of an interdisciplinary team required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
- Ability to participate in the clinical training activities of the Psychology discipline.
- Competencies in other languages an asset.
