**The Opportunity**:
Reporting to the Clinical Manager, Community Mental Health and Addictions (CMHA), the Psychologist will be a key member of an interdisciplinary team, providing treatment to patients and families and consulting with other health professionals, both internal and external to the IWK. The Social Worker must have a specialized knowledge and experience working with children and youth presenting with eating disorders and be able to assess and manage the risk associated with such illness/disorders. The Social Worker must have an interest in helping these children and youth through all phases of their illness and with associated clinical conditions such as suicidality, anxiety and depression. In collaboration with the other members of the team, the Social Worker will also be responsible to help support and participate in structured training environments where clinical trainees are mentored and supervised. The goal is to advance the trainees’ specialized skill, knowledge and use of evidence-based treatment of Eating Disorders.

**Hours of Work**:
Monday to Friday; 8:30am - 4:30pm. Some evening work and flexibility required depending on caseload.

**Your Qualifications**:

- Masters Degree in Social Work required.
- Registered for registration with the Nova Scotia Association of Social Workers required.
- Minimum two (2) years post masters clinical experience working in child and adolescent mental health services required.
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Certification (NVCI).
- Demonstrated experience in individual/family therapy.
- Demonstrated experience in delivery of evidence based group interventions.
- Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills and the demonstrated ability to work as part of an interdisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated experience in case management and community liaison.
- Demonstrated strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Demonstrated skills in organization and time management.
- Demonstrated understanding of the child welfare system and knowledge of mental health disorders, including anxiety, mood and disruptive behavior disorders.
- Competencies in other languages an asset.
