Although we are currently in the North American market, we see great opportunity to expand our markets. To support this, we are currently looking for a Vice President, Head of Aviation.

You will report to the Interim Chief Executive Officer of Everest Insurance Company of Canada (‘EvCan’, ‘Company’) with a matrix to the International Head of Aviation in London. You will be a key member of EvCan’s underwriting leadership team. Alongside your peers, you will foster a culture of underwriting excellence, entrepreneurship, transparency, collaboration, candor, and inclusiveness. You will lead the launch of the Aviation underwriting department in Canada and the execution of the department’s key objectives. You will be instrumental in maintaining excellent distribution and customer relationships, driving the profitable growth of EvCan’s Aviation portfolio.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Working with local leadership and global product leadership, launch the Canadian Aviation practice.- Assist in expanding the Aviation portfolio in line with Company plans whilst maintaining a focus on bottom-line underwriting profit and delivery of Everest internal plans.- Assist in expanding the current product range to allow Everest to compete with the market leaders in the sector, including products within the Umbrella and Excess arenas.- Assist in the preparation of the business plan, statistics, and documentation as required.- Monitor and keep abreast of changes in underwriting, regulation, and compliance.- Represent EvCan at meetings in the Everest office and during visits to brokers and other customers as required.- Refer risks as appropriate that exceed prescribed underwriting authority.- Assist in developing a marketing plan whilst maintaining and expanding existing broker relationships, developing new relationships where this is consistent with the objectives of the business plan.- Liaise with the Claims Manager on claims related issues and participate in account and portfolio reviews.- Contribute to the regular analysis and review of underwriting practices and procedures.
