As the leader in building envelope construction, Flynn Group of Companies is seeking a dynamic individual for the role of Health & Safety Administrator to provide support for the BC Region based in our Vancouver Branch (Office Location: 19175 - 22nd Ave, Surrey, BC).
- A Day in the Life
- Work directly with the Regional Health & Safety Manager as well as the Safety Specialists to support administration of all H&S processes in the BC Region
- Review or assist in establishing safety inspection schedules for tools, equipment & PPE to ensure safe operating conditions and compliance with current regulations
- Assist with, attend and participate in JOHSC Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee (JOHSC) meetings with worker and employer representatives, initiate follow up and corrective action to ensure compliance and maintain effective communication with workers and employers
- Coordinating company fleet vehicle processes with the element program
- Participate with in-house health and safety training with employees
- Conduct new hire orientations & administer the SureHire process
- Ensure employees are scheduled in all applicable safety training which includes employee orientation, physical test, WHMIS 2015 and fall protection
- Participate in the development and implementation of safety training programs
- Ensure documentation is completed to support company due diligence in ensuring the safety of employees and members of the public
- Maintain records of incidents and accidents and provide statistics for managers
- Organize and prepare site documentation, such as training records, site specific safety plans, incident trends, records & statistics.
- Maintaining company documentation pertaining to safety training files, government forms/records, crew tracking, and safety/incident reports.
- Assisting with the claim management process
- Supporting companywide health and safety initiatives by responding to any questions or concerns related to the safety documentation.

- Valid driver’s license required
- Strong administrative & organizational skills
- Professional and personable approach
- Ability to communicate effectively and diplomatically orally and in writing
- Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills
- Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, prioritize and multi-task
- Ability to build strong relationships, trust and respect with front line workers as well as the leadership team
