Revolutionizing Rental Housing development for People and Planet, our client, Kindred Works, is on a mission to build tens of thousands of homes by 2030, 1/3rd of which will be below market. With an unrivaled pipeline of projects, the organization is seeking an entrepreneurially-oriented, experienced Project Manager / Owner’s Rep to lead the successful execution of its construction projects.

In addition to new construction, their portfolio has a range of historical buildings requiring innovative approaches to development. Currently, there are 25 projects in development, including St. Luke’s (Toronto), Wexford Heights (Scarborough), Westminster (Mississauga), Dunbarton (Pickering), and St. James (Hamilton).

In this newly created role, you will be acting as the Owner’s Rep / project management leader, liaising closely with each project’s General Contractor / Construction Manager. Reporting to the Chief Development Officer and co-founder, this role is responsible for ensuring construction is completed on time / on budget, managing reporting on construction progress, coordinating Owner inspections and construction issue resolution, as well as initiating and overseeing each project step, ensuring alignment with quality objectives and standards.
- Have at least 5 years of real estate development / construction project management experience on a variety of project sizes;
- Have been involved in completing project management tasks in all stages of construction development from concept to occupancy while having direct contact with General Contractors / 3rd Party Construction Management teams through construction;
- Have experience in RFP processes for selecting Construction Managers / Contractors;
- Are familiar with standard forms of construction contracts (CCDC contracts);
- Have a proven track record for successfully managing projects, influencing others without direct authority, and overseeing the work of others;
- Are a self-starter with exceptional communication and organizational skills;
- Effectively collaborate with others to achieve project outcomes and work just as well autonomously and independently to complete project tasks;
- Excel in start-up or entrepreneurial environments where you balance rolling up your sleeves to get things done while creating repeatable processes that support the business to scale;
