Founded in 1983, we are proud to service garden retailers, landscape contractors, municipalities, and golf courses throughout Canada and the northern United States. We have four (4) locations in Canada: three in Ontario, and one in British Columbia.

Nearly 500,000 plants, including flowering shrubs, evergreens, broadleaf evergreens, perennials, vines, small fruits and annuals, are produced annually in containers in this outdoor growing environment. BTN has an exciting opportunity for a dynamic individual who is seeking a fulfilling, self-directed role with a united and harmonious team of like-minded individuals. **The Role**:

- Responsible for producing top-quality plants on time and efficiently by assessing the crops daily and directing the appropriate plant maintenance activities.
- Perform IPM scouting and communicate recommended treatments, following up with a post-assessment.
- As part of the Growing Team, the Section Grower helps in setting and enforcing quality standards from potting to shipping.
- Perform inventory counts and saleable quality assessments.
- Maintain appropriate records, submitting on time.
- Supervise staff and record hours and work data.
- Infrequent rotational weekend/holiday work requirement to monitor and manage temperatures during the cold season.
- Help with plant maintenance or other crews as needed.
- Promote a healthy and safe work environment.

**What the Role Needs**:

- University or college degree or diploma in Agriculture or Horticulture, or equivalent experience.
- 1-3 years experience working with plants in a growing facility.
- A results-driven self-starter who is organized with a high attention to detail.
- Ability to learn and adapt quickly.
- A team-player who thrives just as well independently.
- Experience supervising others and/or a working knowledge of Spanish language are valuable assets.
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.

**Working Environment**
- Outdoors and indoors, in all types of weather
- Exposure to plants, water, dust, noise, machinery
- Standing and walking for extended periods of time
- Lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Repetitive motion

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $22.00-$26.00 per hour
