**What Your Role will Be**

Reporting directly to the General Manager(GM), the Operations Manager is responsible for labour and resource planning to support department requirements and maximize operational efficiency. As a detailed planner, you will help fellow management staff in the planning and execution of key deliverables and establish continued process improvement. As a member of our Divisional Management Team, you will play a key role in obtaining profit contribution for our location while helping lead staff on the strategic direction and business objectives put forth by the General Manager, National and Executive Management Teams.

The Operations Manager is responsible for setting a good working example and maintaining a positive work environment. Developing strong working relationships and clear communication between all departments is imperative.

**RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES**:
**Labour Planning and Staff Management**
- Monitor and adjust labour plans daily, weekly & monthly.
- Ensure timely and efficient scheduling/use of all BTN Schomberg labour to meet/exceed KPI’s as set by GM
- Maintain Labor Pool through hiring, training, promoting and disciplining staff as required.
- Implement strategies to identify, develop and retain key personnel.

**Processes / SOP’s**
- Update, create and maintain all Operations Department Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) including Production, Distribution, Propagation and Maintenance.
- Update, create and maintain departmental KPI’s in conjunction with GM.

***Distribution**
- Work with Packaging and Shipping Manger to ensure timely and efficient distribution of all product including:

- Pre-tagging, picking, staging, cleaning, loading and all dock related activities.

Ensure best practices are in place to monitor departmental KPI’s, increase efficiency and reduce waste.

**Production & Propagation**
- Work with Grow Manager and/or GM to ensure timely and efficient execution of the Production Plan including: Potting activities, propagation and growing activities, Incoming Reports, Inventory posting.
- Ensure best practices are in place to monitor departmental KPI’s, increase efficiency and reduce waste.

**Maintenance**
- Mentor and direct Maintenance Manager to ensure timely and efficient completion of all facilities/operational maintenance activities including:

- Equipment and facilities maintenance/repair, inspections, fabrication, grounds management and daily departmental support.
- Ensure best practices are in place to monitor departmental objectives, increase efficiency and reduce waste.

***JOB SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS**
- Proven Management Experience (3 -5 years)
- Systems and Process driven
- Excellent ability to understand and follow both verbal and written instruction.
- Excellent Communication Skills.
- Excellent Computer skills - Excel focused, ability to learn new software systems.
- Excellent Operations Experience in a fast-paced work environment.
- Extensive Horticultural Background/Experience a plus
- Excellent Management skills supported by proven track record.
- Ability to manage 200+ staff at peak
- Excellent ability to create/analyze/critique processes/SOP’s and pursue continuous improvement and efficiency.
- KPI development experience.
- Promote a positive, safe, professional and productive work environment.
