We currently have an opening for a Health & Safety Coordinator on a full-time permanent basis. Reporting to the Human Resources Lead, the Health & Safety Coordinator will be responsible for a range of duties including but not limited to the following:
**Essential Responsibilities & Duties**
- Strong understanding of and compliance with OHSA
- Interpret and provide advice and guidance to all departments pertaining to the OHSA and Regulations, the WSIB and other applicable statutes and regulations
- Provide guidance and support in implementing H&S management systems
- Work directly with staff at all levels to communicate and implement H&S initiatives
- Implement and conduct all H&S training and maintain up to date documentation
- Guide employees and supervisors so that they meet their health and safety obligations in areas such as preparation of site specific H&S plans, site inspections, emergency response planning, hazard assessment, etc.
- Manage Joint Health and Safety Committee
- Track and report H&S performance and statistics
- Conduct internal H&S audits
- Review and update internal policies based on best practices and legislation
- Assist with other duties as required

**Qualifications**
- Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent
- 2-5 years working experience in a Health & Safety environment
- Designation of CRST considered an asset
- Experience in Human Resources an asset
- JHSC certified/ experience
- Additional training certificates such as first aid & CPR, train-the-trainer training, WHMIS, forklift, etc. considered an asset
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Skilled in Microsoft-Work, Outlook, Power Point and Excel
