**JOB OVERVIEW**

Reporting to the VP, Cancer Prevention Programs and Services, the Director, Cancer Prevention Programs, is responsible for cancer prevention programming for _French/English_ speaking populations and will also have a key role in supporting strategic planning and fund development.

At CCS, our cancer prevention programs and services support individuals and communities to live healthier lives and reduce their cancer risk with a strong focus on programming addressing modifiable risk factors and tailored to the specific needs of diverse and distinct populations, from a health equity perspective.

This role will lead the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of CCS Cancer prevention programs with a range of stakeholders, and partners including provincial and national governments, public health programs and agencies, community agencies and other cancer or health sectors/organizations.

**WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING**:
**Lead the planning, implementation, and evaluation of prevention programming at CCS, at times at a Pan-Canadian level.**
- Ensure that programs are meeting funder requirements and are delivered within planned timelines and budget.
- Ensure that internal and external program report requirements are met.
- Implement evaluation and quality improvement plans in accordance with funder and CCS requirements.
- Collaborate with the VP to implement plans to identify strategically aligned cancer prevention services and initiatives from diverse government sources nationally and provincially.
- Lead the development of new cancer prevention Programs, services and initiatives that are aligned with CCS strategic directions, system needs, operational efficiency and future sustainability.
- Lead the development of funding proposals and briefs as directed by the VP to resource new Program development.
- Validate and sign contracts, updates and modifications required for project implementation, and notify senior management as needed.

**Lead relationships to maintain and expand funding and partnerships for cancer prevention programs.**
- Engage with other CCS departments also involved in preventing cancer in the implementation of a multi-year integrated cancer prevention strategy for CCS.
- Develop and maintain partnerships with traditional and non-traditional stakeholders to further the CCS’ goals in cancer prevention.
- In partnership with the Director, Partner Engagement, Cancer Strategy and Innovation, and the Fundraising teams, develop proposals for sustainable funding of cancer prevention programs.
- Ensure collaboration with other CCS Mission departments and with supporting departments, including but not limited to marketing, communications, digital and technology.
- Maintain knowledge of current and emerging cancer prevention and population health research, issues, and trends to inform prevention strategic priorities and programs.
- Represent CCS on strategic external stakeholder groups and liaise with researchers and public health agencies on issues related to cancer prevention.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Master’s degree in health promotion, public health, health sciences, health communications, health policy or a related field with at least 10 years management experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- 5-7 years of experience in cancer prevention, tobacco cessation, public health, nutrition, health promotion, or related field preferred.
