The Specialist, Human Resources is responsible for managing the Temporary Staff Services pools to meet the short-term staffing needs at the University's three campuses (SFU Burnaby, SFU Vancouver, and SFU Surrey). The Specialist recruits, selects and assigns temporary staff to work in diverse temporary positions in the CUPE, Local 3338 bargaining unit. The role provides professional assistance to the Human Resources Strategic Business Partner Services Team within Human Resources as well as backup budget support to the supervisor.

Qualifications:
Diploma in Business Administration, Human Resources Management, or a related field, and three years of Human Resources experience including two years of staffing and recruitment experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Excellent interviewing and communication (both oral and written) skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Excellent analytical reasoning, problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
- Excellent client service skills and an ability to exhibit a high level of tact and diplomacy.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
