**About Us**:
The vision for the Medical Imaging Department is to be internationally recognized for excellence and innovations in Imaging, Intervention and Education that result in improved patient care and outcomes.
**Responsibilities**:
The Human Resources Assistant will assist with the implementation of human resources functions, and provide administrative support pertaining to human resources practices, policies and procedures to ensure smooth operations within the Department. The role will act as a first point of contact, and provide information, in compliance with Western policies, procedures, collective agreements, and government legislation. The Human Resources Assistant will compile and maintain confidential information in accordance with departmental and Human Resources policies and procedures,
**Qualifications**:
**Education**:
- 3 year Community College Diploma in business Administration, Human Resources or related field
**Experience**:
- 3 years experience supporting human resources functions
- Experience providing administrative support, preferably in an academic or health care environment
- Experience in a unionized environment is preferred
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Familiarity with Human Resources principles and practices
- Familiarity with the Employment Standards Act, and other relevant legislation
- Verbal and written communication skills to translate information into easily understood terms, summarize information, and provide a rationale for action
- Ability to work in a manner that models best practices in confidentiality standards
- Customer service skills with a desire to achieve results in a professional and timely manner
- Detail-oriented with an ability to function and process information with high levels of accuracy
- Ability and willingness to stay abreast of technological developments
- Ability to employ a systematic and efficient approach to work
- Adapts readily and effectively to changing priorities and demands
- Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to understand, interpret, and effectively communicate University guidelines, policies and practices to key stakeholders
- Ability to prioritize and organize a fluctuating work load
- Proven ability and natural inclination to develop relationships by interacting with people in a professional, respectful and diplomatic manner
- Ability to work independently and effectively as a member of the team to achieve department goals
