As the **Mapping Technician**, you will be responsible for mapping fields, which is an integral part of the SWAT process at Croptimistic. You will report to the Operations Manager (Alberta) and be a member on the Agronomy team while communicating with multiple departments and learning about our SWAT ECOSYSTEM. You will be located in the North-Central Alberta area to best facilitate surrounding fields and be expected to travel often including overnight stays.

**Responsibilities**
- Collect geo-referenced electrical conductivity, RTK elevation, and field boundaries
- Soil sample fields using SWAT MAPS, as needed
- Assist with in-season variable-rate field assessments, including plant stand counts
- Assist agronomy staff with in-season insect and disease scouting if required
- Champion the brand and help grow the business throughout Alberta

**Requirements**:

- Able to work independently and think strategically
- Strong computer skills, with willingness to learn GIS and farm management software
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Basic mechanical knowledge and/or experience considered an asset
- Relevant education and/or experience in agriculture, with knowledge of Western Canadian agriculture specifically, would be advantageous
- High-level of integrity and commitment to providing unrivaled service
- Class 5 driver’s license, with 4-wheel, field driving experience (abstract may be requested)
- Must be willing to work overtime in peak seasons (Spring & Fall) including Saturdays
