**DECRIPTION**:
This position is also responsible for providing support and guidance in the development, implementation, maintenance, and improvement of the Health Safety Management system. Additional responsibilities of the individual will include participating in incident investigations, performing field site visits, delivering presentations, report and process document writing, data analysis and vendor management.

**WHAT YOU GET TO DO**:

- Develop and implement health and safety related programs and documentation for the corporate teams.
- Act as the Common Groups liaison with OHS regulatory agencies for serious incidents, complaints, and inspections. Key role in “Privileged and Confidential” incident investigation involving legal matters with potential material impact to ATCO - legally, financially, or reputationally.
- Represent and advocate for ATCO on industry and regulatory committees where participation may be influential to future regulatory/legislative decisions and standard process.
- Support and/or participate in internal and external audits related to OHS management system conformity, COR Certification, National Safety Codes (NSC) and Corporate Stewardship, and Sustainability performance reporting compliance across Utilities.
- Daily responsibility to identify, report and educate employees on ATCO policy and make recommendations to employees and management to mitigate future incidents.
- Audit contractor compliance to ATCO policies, OHS requirements, contractual H&S obligations.

**WHO YOU ARE**:

- Must have Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) designation or other OHS designation/certification from a recognized national or international organization
- Minimum 5 years of industry (oil & gas or large dynamic organization) experience in a corporate safety-related role
- Experience developing Occupational Health and Safety Programs required
- Knowledge of OHS Act/Regulations, CSA Standards, other legislative requirements, applicable federal, provincial, and municipal regulations/legislation, industry standards, Workplace Safety & Insurance Act, and best practices.
- Ability to monitor health and safety performance and analyze trends and provide recommendations on next steps
- Ability to work with other key business groups to develop training materials related to Health and Safety
- Experience with TapRoot® Cause Analysis considered an asset
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 0365 Applications, such as Word, Excel, Visio, and Power Point
- First Aid including CPR and AED certification
- Strong report writing skills and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment setting priorities
- Ability to exercise tact, discretion, and sound judgement
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Mature, professional, and optimistic attitude
- Proven ability to maintain confidentiality of information and records
- Strong diplomacy, flexibility, listening and persuasion skills
- Travel flexibility to support the service territory of field-based client groups
- Safety-sensitive role with additional pre-employment requirements as identified in the Alcohol & Drug policy
- Valid Class 5 Alberta driver’s license
