**Business Manager, Faculty of Arts**:
**Required Position**:
Full-Time Appointment

**Responsibilities**:
Reporting to the Dean of the Faculty of Arts, the Business Manager provides daily confidential oversight of the office of the Dean. The Business Manager organizes and tracks academic, administrative, and financial processes, supervises staff, and coordinates new initiatives to support the development of the Faculty, ensuring business continuity.
- Coordinate office functions within the academic and administrative cycles, ensuring that activities are organized and occur within the appropriate time limits;
- Understand and effectively administer human resources and University policies and collective agreements including developing and maintaining systems, including electronic, database and tracking systems, for the effective processing of matters arising from various collective agreements within the Faculty;
- Supervise the office team and administrative assistants assigned to each School, write job descriptions, recruit, review, select, hire, discipline and train staff;
- Administer all regular budgets for the Dean’s office and administer other budgets under the responsibility of the Dean; provide informed counsel to the Dean in budget matters including analysis and monitoring;
- Compilation of statistics and summary reports as required (analyzing Tableau data, enrollment and staffing statistics, budget impact, etc.);
- Maintain accurate files and monitoring of all external academic agreements and ententes with other institutions;
- Organize and promote events for the Faculty of Arts;
- Maintain webpages, generate ideas for content, coordinate submissions and design page layout with appropriate support from other units;
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Dean.

**Qualifications**:

- University degree, in an Arts discipline preferred, or equivalency;
- Demonstrated knowledge of and appreciation for the Arts disciplines;
- Ability to take initiative and work effectively as part of an administrative team;
- Minimum of two to three years supervisory experience;
- Knowledge of the University structure and the functions of executive offices and administrative and academic units;
- Significant experience with human resources, budget and project administration;
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal and organizational skills;
- Ability to manage changing deadlines and tight timelines with accuracy and finesse;
- Ability to prioritize and maintain confidentiality;
- Ability to work in both official languages, English and French, verbally and in writing.

The official University hours of operation shall be from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, during, and including, the months from September to April, and from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m Monday through Friday during and including May to August., amounting to thirty-three and three-quarter (33.75) hours per week.
