ASSESSMENT PROCESS AND INSTRUCTIONS

➤ STEP 1 - Screening

PART A: Job Application

PART B: Required Documents

Submit the following documents through the Simple Survey link below:
1. Resume;
2. Cover letter setting out in 250 to 500 words why a career with the Department of Justice Canada appeals to you;
3. Law school transcript that includes second-year first-term marks. Unofficial transcripts will be accepted, with official marks to follow when received (students who are selected for an interview will be required to bring an official transcript to their interview).

➤ INSTRUCTIONS

Your covering letter and resume will be used to assess your education, training, and/or experience, as well as your ability to communicate effectively in writing. They must be written in an effective, professional, and compelling manner.

A minimum font size of 12 points and a font type such as Arial, Verdana, or Tahoma are recommended.

➤ STEP 2 - INTERVIEW

Interviews will be conducted between Monday, June 3, 2024 and Monday, June 10, 2024.

Note: For articling students (not yet eligible for membership in the Bar of one of the provinces or territories of Canada or in the Order of Notaries in the Province of Quebec), the minimum standard is a Bachelor of Law (LL.B), Juris Doctor (J.D.), LL.L, or equivalent.

Degree equivalency

Eligible for articles pursuant to the rules of the Law Society of Alberta.
